<title>...And The Songbyrd Ate The Mushroom Under The Chestnut Tree</title>
<itunes:author>Explorers Record Club</itunes:author>
<itunes:subtitle>...And The Songbyrd Ate The Mushroom Under The Chestnut Tree</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>As the lights grew dim in the cabin, they brought out their instruments. A young woman lid the oil lamp and their glasses were yet again filled. Tired and weary they were, but in their minds they knew that the harmonies of acoustic guitars and soothing voises were the only medicine they had. As they played some closed their eyes and dreamed of a place far away, while others stood up, slowly dancing to the acoustic tones of yonder. As the music grew in intensity, the players cluching their instruments, consentrated, hypnoticed by their own creation, they saw a vision from a far away place and a far away time. It was a sunny day, on a wonderful meadow filled with flowers and grass. And on the top of the meadow there was the biggest chestnut tree they had ever seen. And under the chestnut tree sat a songbyrd with a mushroom. And as their illusion slowly faded away they saw a last glimpse of their imaginary magic world, for the songbyrd ate the mushroom under the chestnut tree...

<itunes:subtitle>Cocktails and B3&#8217;s</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>This is the perfect friday afternoon mix. The kind of afternoon when you just got home after a long hard week at the office. The kind of afternoon when you forget all of those chores of yours. The kind of afternoon you put on your three or four button jacket and your round collar shirt. Or if you&#39;re a bird you probably put on something colourful and short. The kind of afternoon you mix yourself a cold cocktail, maybe a whisky with ginger ale. On the rocks of course. The kind of friday you know all eyes are going to be on you for the rest of the night. The night when you hear the most uplifting message from the speakers:

<title>Guest mix: Psychedelic Pop Mix</title>

<itunes:subtitle>Guest mix: Psychedelic Pop Mix</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>From time to time there will be mixes here by DJ&#39;s outside of the club. To kick the whole thing off Dandy Longlegs asked his long time favorite DJ Little Danny to contribute with a psychedelic pop mix. Danny is off the blog circus for a while but you can find his earlier writings and finds over at the great Office Naps. A few words about the mix from Daniel himself:

If anything, people tend to remember the decade for the sitars and sunshine harmonies and fuzzed&#45;out guitars. The reputation is not entirely undeserved. But I am here to say that it was echo, great heaping slabs of it, that really makes things go ‘round.</itunes:summary>

<title>Sunday afternoon in October</title>
<itunes:author>Explorers Record Club</itunes:author>
<itunes:subtitle>Sunday afternoon in October</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>This mix is almost as beautiful as last sunday afternoon. Lazy tunes from pacific shores and exotic cities blends with the the crisp autumn air in mid Norway, and also takes the edge of turning thirty, which I actually did this day. Between picking apples with Mari in the garden and making moose&#45;stew for birthday dinner, I compiled the most relaxing sounds I could find in the record&#45;shelf. That turned out to be exotica legends like Les Baxter and Martin Denny, cheerful composers like Bacharah and Michel Legrand then a bit jazz with Dave Pike and Art Blakey and in the end a few brazilian favorites..

<title>Transitional Years</title>
<itunes:author>Explorers Record Club</itunes:author>
<itunes:subtitle>Transitional Years</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>At the end of the sixties a lot of existing bands seemed to be in sort of a haze regarding what to do within music. Some new bands appeared with bright, shining ideas like the great Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Neil Young or Santana, but the bands that had rolled along with the sixties had a hard time figuring out what to do after the summer of love and when whole hippie movement took a down turn. This mix shows some of the great music to come from these transitional years from &#39;68 to &#39;71 when rock music was headed for a new direction. It includes veterans like Muddy and new comers like Alice Cooper and we can hear the echoes of optimistic times in the music while the lyrics (for the most part) definitely are headed towards something darker.
