Sitting in front of the fireplace, trying to keep the cold outside, it´s an obvious choice to start this mix with some really nice caribbean stuff. The music of Les Raspaces blends latin and african, and it´s a step further into authenticity from the world-music-sound that´s in vougue in contemporary music with artists like Vampire Weekend. I listen to the vampires a lot these days, but it´s also nice to skip the north american influences some times. From this first caribbean song it´s a mix with no particually coherence when it comes to genere. Its just music that I would like to bring a long on a raft across the pacific in addition to a seasick parrot.
