Updated! Updated! Updated! Soundflat Ballroom Bash

1 comment(s)

Wow! Shake! Shout! We just came home from the great 60s festival in Leipzig, ran by two of the most fun German guys you will ever meet, Traxel and Lutz. The festival is a courtesy of Soundflat Records and Soundflat Mailorder and features their own bands. Highlights this year was Peter Barry and the Shake Set (who are so stuck in the 60s that they don't have a website or a MySpace - GREAT! But trust us, they are one of the most authentic beat bands around) and The Norvins. Other highlights included the fantastic ballroom venue and the high percentage of the crowd that was dancing. We would love to show you some photos from the event but we were way too busy grooving some new dances and finishing those GTs. Instead here is a photo stolen from the festival's MySpace. YouFace this!

The festival has been added to the new and growing directory section by the way.

Updated! Joanna Bunbury was kind enough to send us some pictures from the festival. Read the rest of the entry to see them.

This summer DJ Radio Luxembourg and Dandy Longlegs travelled to a small village in the middle of Italy called Salsomaggiore, to experience the sixties in Festival Beat style. The festival attracted a good crowd of people from all around Europe and even the world. Two of the visitors were Martina Maffini and Veronica Mengoli who took some great photos that they just released as a fanzine released by Kaugummi books.

Your two Norwegian gentlemen appears on several pages throughout the fanzine. DJ Radio Luxembourg is even on the front page, dancing his special "oh-no-I'm-falling-of-the-bar-counter"-dance together with David from David Peter and the Wild Sect and his beautiful girlfriend Asta.

More images after the jump, including a bonus and exclusive pool side photo.
